IIC ID: IC202015285

Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India has established ‘MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of Innovation among all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes while they are informative years.

MIC has envisioned encouraging creation of ‘Institution’s Innovation Council (IICs) across selected HEIs. A network of  IICs are established to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the Institution through multitudinous modes leading to an innovation promotion ecosystem in the campuses.

IIC Objectives:

1. Promote Innovation Culture: The IIC endeavors to instill a culture of innovation among students and faculty by organizing workshops, seminars, and events that highlight the importance of creativity and out-of-the-box thinking.

2. Provide Platform for Ideation: Through various platforms, the IIC encourages students to brainstorm and present their innovative ideas. This not only enhances their problem-solving skills but also fosters an entrepreneurial mindset.

3. Collaborate with Industry: Establishing partnerships with industry experts and companies is a key focus for the IIC. This collaboration provides students with real-world insights, exposure to industry trends, and opportunities for internships and projects.

4. Skill Development: Recognizing the importance of equipping students with the skills required in the rapidly evolving job market, the IIC organizes skill development programs, coding competitions, and hackathons.

Key Initiatives:

1. Innovation Workshops and Seminars: Regular workshops and seminars are conducted by industry experts to inspire students and faculty, providing them with insights into the latest advancements and emerging technologies.

2. Idea Competitions: The IIC organizes idea competitions where students present innovative solutions to real-world problems. This not only hones their presentation skills but also encourages them to think critically and creatively.

3. Industry-Academia Collaboration: The IIC facilitates collaboration between academia and industry through guest lectures, industrial visits, and internships. This ensures that students are well-prepared for the demands of the professional world.

4. Skill Enhancement Programs: Recognizing the significance of continuous learning, the IIC conducts skill enhancement programs in areas such as digital marketing, artificial intelligence, and data analytics.
