About Us

St Philomena College was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

Equal Opportunity Cell

“Equal Opportunity Cell” was constituted in continuation to ‘Grievance Redressal Mechanism’, which would work as per guidelines of UGC Regulations “Promotion of Equity in Higher Educational Institutional Regulation 2019”. The cell has an objective to address the issue related to the students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Minorities, and the Persons with disabilities (PWDs). The constitution of the Cell is as follows:
