St Philomena College was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

Anti-Drug Vigilence Committee

The Anti-Drug Vigilance Committee of the college is constituted to create awareness about the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse among students. The Committee works towards promoting a drug-free campus by organizing awareness programs, campaigns, and counseling sessions in collaboration with relevant agencies. It aims to instill healthy lifestyles, ethical values, and responsible behavior, ensuring a safe and disciplined academic environment.

Objectives:

  • To create awareness among students about the ill effects of drug and substance abuse.

  • To promote a drug-free, healthy, and disciplined campus environment.

  • To organize awareness programmes, seminars, rallies, and campaigns in collaboration with government and non-government agencies.

  • To provide guidance and counseling support to students to help them resist substance abuse.

  • To inculcate moral values, self-discipline, and responsible citizenship among students.
