Getting admission in SPC was one of the best things that happened in my life. Faculty here is just amazing. They don’t just teach the book stuff but will also give you guidance on how you can bring a change in the society.I express my heartfelt thanks to the institution for giving me the perfect opportunity to explore myself. I am grateful to be part of such an institution.

I deem it most honoured and proud to say that I am an alumnus of the prestigious St. Philomena College, Puttur. The College NSS unit provided me the platform for my personality development and future career. The ambience of the campus is very positive and the staff was highly motivative and supportive.

ಎಂಭತ್ತರ ದಶಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಸಂತ ಫಿಲೋಮಿನಾ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ. ಪದವಿ ತರಗತಿಗೆ ಸೇರುವಾಗಲೇ ಯಕ್ಷಗಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲ್ಪ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಅಭಿರುಚಿ ನನಗಿತ್ತು. ಅದು ಬೆಳೆಯಲು ಬೇಕಾದ ಪೂರಕ ವಾತಾವರಣವು ನನಗಲ್ಲಿ ಲಭಿಸಿತು. ಆಗ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಫಾ.ಹೆನ್ರಿ ಕ್ಯಾಸ್ಟಲಿನೊ ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತರನ್ನು ಬಹಳ ಬೇಗ ಗುರುತಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ನಾನು ಬರೆದ ವರ್ಣ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು, ಲೇಖನ - ಕವನಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರ ಕೈಗೇ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ; ತಕ್ಷಣ ಅದು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಗೋಡೆ ಫಲಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.

I had an opportunity to study and interact with great Principals like late Rev. Fr. Serrao, late Rev. Fr. Castelino & Rev. Fr. J B D’Souza, who were the architects of every student to design their life, which was the foundation stone in my bright future. For me Fr. Castelino was very much instrumental to write KAS exam as well as helping me by giving books from the college library to prepare for the exam.

St Philomena College is an institution which has given a new direction for my academic career. The College provides education to all sections of society without seeing the cast and religion, which I do feel hallmark of the College. We have received excellent education and guidance from Professors which actually formed us to reach the present level.

I studied in St. Philomena College, Puttur and got my B.Sc. degree in 1991. It was a golden period in my life. Most of the students in those days were first generation learners from remote villages of Puttur and Sullia taluks. We had very good teachers who were also great motivators. The teachers, the library and the learning environment made us what we are today. I am grateful to my college.

I feel proud whenever I pass through the road and see the college and its expanding campus. St Philomena college was the only degree college of the Taluk at that time and entering college campus itself was a great privilege and studying was a perennial blessing.==

It’s simply awesome.A lush Green Campus !As always, it holds it’s position as one of the best degree colleges in Puttur, so you cannot doubt the quality of education provided here. I was a BCA student in St.Philomena college.I got many opportunities rather than academic curriculum. Faculties are well versed and motivate every student.There’s a large number of student activity clubs active in the college. Well, if you are a sportsman/sportswoman, you are not losing out on anything in philomena.

ಪುತ್ತೂರಿನ ಸಂತ ಫಿಲೋಮಿನಾ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಕೇವಲ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕವಾಗಿ ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲ ಸಾಹಿತಿಕವಾಗಿಯೂ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿದೆ. 1984 ರಿಂದ 87 ರವರೆಗೆ ನಾನು ಈ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪದವಿಯನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸಿದೆ .ಆಗ ನನಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರಾಗಿದ್ದವರು ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಹಿರಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದವರು. ಅವರ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದಲೇ ಆ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಭಿತ್ತಿ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ -ವಾರ್ಷಿಕಾಂಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಪಡೆಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು. ಆನಂತರದ ನನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಾಹಿತಿಕ ,ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ, ಸಂಶೋಧನಾತ್ಮಕ ಅಧ್ಯಯನಗಳಿಗೆ ಫಿಲೋಮಿನಾ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು ನೀಡಿದ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹ, ಬಿತ್ತಿದ ಬೀಜವೀಗ ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಬೇರೂರಿದ್ದೇ ಕಾರಣ.ಆ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಭಾವಲಯ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಲಿ ಎಂದು ಬಯಸುವೆ... ನರೇಂದ್ರ ರೈ ದೇರ್ಲ.

Overall experience in St Philomena College is amazing because we are provided many opportunities to grow and explore our skills on sports/ other cultural activities along with education. I always found healthy and friendly environment where teachers are highly supportive.
