I feel proud whenever I pass through the road and see the college and its expanding campus. St Philomena college was the only degree college of the Taluk at that time and entering college campus itself was a great privilege and studying was a perennial blessing.==

SPC is one of the most reputed instirutions in D.K. district. The college excellent in terms of facult members and infrastrucure ( the sports facilities, labs, library etc). The focus here is to ensure alround development of students. I was amazed to see their focus on latest trends and technologies.

I was like any other timid village boy until I joined the Philomena.Even 40 years after running in those corridors, I fondly remember days spent at the campus, and treasure the basics I learnt from my lecturers at the SPC.In the last decades I had the privilege to give seminars on a few occasions,I thank the college staff and the administrators for keeping the inherent spirit of the college intact throughout these changing times.

Before enrolling at St. Philomena College, I also had the unique opportunity to connect with BCA professors to decide on my career. I had discussed  on  subjects they teach, how it differ from other Engineering programs, and what are the  potential career paths .

College is the perfect place to discover hidden talents. We have supportive faculty members, who helps us in our difficult times also. Apart from studies, the extra- curriculum activities what they have conducted helped me a lot to build my career.

ಸಂತ ಫಿಲೋಮಿನಾ ಕಾಲೇಜು ನನ್ನ ಬದುಕಿಗೊಂದು ಹೊಸ ಆಯಾಮವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ. ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಿಂದ ನಾನು ಕಲಿತದ್ದು ಶಿಸ್ತು, ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆಯನ್ನು. ನಾನು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು ನೀಡಿದ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಹುಟ್ಟುಹಾಕಿದ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಪರಿಸರ ನನ್ನಂಥ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ವಿವಿಧ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಸಾಧನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೂಲ ಕಾರಣವಾಯಿತು. ಸಂತ ಫಿಲೋಮಿನಾ ಕಾಲೇಜು ನನಗೆ ಯಾವತ್ತಿಗೂ ಒಂದು ಆದರ್ಶ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾದರಿ.

My experience at St Philomena has been wonderful and memorable. The faculties have been very knowledgeable, supportive and encouraging. Apart from academics, there are several cultural and inter-college events that helped to grow our intrapersonal and interpersonal skills thus ensuring holistic development.

ಎಂಭತ್ತರ ದಶಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಸಂತ ಫಿಲೋಮಿನಾ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ. ಪದವಿ ತರಗತಿಗೆ ಸೇರುವಾಗಲೇ ಯಕ್ಷಗಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲ್ಪ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಅಭಿರುಚಿ ನನಗಿತ್ತು. ಅದು ಬೆಳೆಯಲು ಬೇಕಾದ ಪೂರಕ ವಾತಾವರಣವು ನನಗಲ್ಲಿ ಲಭಿಸಿತು. ಆಗ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಫಾ.ಹೆನ್ರಿ ಕ್ಯಾಸ್ಟಲಿನೊ ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತರನ್ನು ಬಹಳ ಬೇಗ ಗುರುತಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ನಾನು ಬರೆದ ವರ್ಣ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು, ಲೇಖನ - ಕವನಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರ ಕೈಗೇ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ; ತಕ್ಷಣ ಅದು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಗೋಡೆ ಫಲಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.

St. Philomena College, Puttur, where I did my Bachelors Degree in Science has excellent infrastructureand learning resources. Collegehas produced some eminent personalities, who have achieved great heights in their career. Located in a beautiful environment and with excellent faculty members, the College has continued to serve the society by imparting value based education. The College has instilled discipline in me and shaped my career to become what I am today.

I had a lovely time at St. Philomena College as a student. We had a wonderful group of Lectures. I would like to take this time to thank the college and professors for making me who I am today. I also want to point out that this college instils in its students a strong sense of self-control and discipline. Best wishes to all incoming college students.
