St Philomena College was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

Watching the Partial Solar Eclipse through the Telescope organized at SPAAC, Puttur

SPAAC has arranged the Astronomical Telescope fitted with the solar filter and also the specially designed Sun Glass to watch the celestial spectacle. Dev.Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, the Principal of the College, Rev.Fr Ashok Rayan, the Principal of St.Philoemna PU College, Rev.Fr Stany Pinto, the Campus Director and good number of students and teachers gathered and watched the partial solar eclipse occurred after 5pm on 25th October.

Dr AP Radhakrishna, the Vice Principal and the Coordinator of SPAAC has arranged the program with the help of Mr. Vipin Nayak and Mr. Abhishek Suvarna and other members.
