International Democracy Day with Human Chain Event

In a powerful display of solidarity and civic engagement, freedom, equality, and brotherhood, as the essence of Democracy, St Philomena College, Puttur, observed International Democracy Day by organizing a Human Chain event outside the college premises (NH 275). Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Principal of the college, along with teaching faculty, administrative staff, and a large number of students participated in the event.

As part of the event, Rev. Dr Monteiro administered a Democracy Day Oath, emphasizing the importance of democracy, unity, and civic responsibility. The participants stood united as hundreds of students actively took part, representing various college bodies such as the National Cadet Corps (NCC), National Service Scheme (NSS), Rovers and Rangers, Youth Red Cross Society, and the Performing Arts Unit.

Vice Principal Dr Vijayakumar Moleyar, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Coordinator Dr Malini K, coordinators from various units also played a significant role, including NSS officers Dr Chandrashekhar K. and Mrs Pushpa, Rovers and Rangers coordinators Mr Khalander Shereef and Ms Shreeraksha, Youth Red Cross Unit Coordinator Dr Dimple J. Fernandes, and Administrative Office Head Mrs Rufina D’Souza were also present on the occasion.
