St Philomena College(Autonomous) was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.
Since its inception, the Institute has lived up to societal expectations, turning out consistent and appreciable results in academic and non-academic fields. The institution does attempt to treat the primary stakeholders in 5 UG programs and 5 PG programs with a rewarding educational experience.

Technology is growing very rapidly all over the world where students must update themselves and move faster with innovative ideas”, said Rev.Dr. Antony Prakash Monteiro, Principal, Centre for PG Studies and research, St Philomena College, Puttur by inaugurating a one day workshop on Internet of Things (IoT) using Arduino and Python held on February 11 2022 and delivered the presidential address.
Mr. Alok Ranjan, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Canara Engineering College, Mangalore was the resource person of this workshop.
Mr. Govinda Prakasha C H, Coordinator, Department of Computer Science who delivered introductory speech.
Faculties of Computer Science Department Mrs. Akshatha B and Ms. Ramya S and Mrs Suraksha S were present during this occasion.
The programme started with a prayer recited by Mahima K and team. The programme was compeered by Ms Himani B.S of II MSc. S Shraavya I MSc Computer science welcomed the gathering. The programme was concluded by Mahima K, with the vote of thanks.
