Valedictory Program of NSS Camp

The Concluding Ceremony of St Philomena College NSS Annual Camp held at Patte Educational Institutions, Badagannur, Puttur was conducted on 15-04-2023. The Correspondent of the College Rev.Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas   presided over the program. In his presidential remarks he said, "NSS camps help the students to live a life with love for environment, collective existence and discipline. By participating in such camps, the personality of the students will be developed. Students have come to realize the importance of service and the value of their hard work by participating in this camp.”

Mr Hariprasad, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, Government First Grade College, Bettampady, who delivered the valedictory speech, said, “Students will get service experience if they participate in one-day NSS camps conducted at their institutions. Annual camps lead to all-round growth of the volunteers. The seven days of living in the community will help the volunteers to live in any environment. Such camps will increase the leadership quality, self-confidence and help them to get released from stage fear. NSS camps are the powerful platforms to bring about remarkable changes in the lives of the individuals through community service. If the camper is a person with environmental awareness, patriotism and service attitude, then that can the best contribution to the nation".

The chief guest, Campus Director of the College, Rev.Fr Stany Pinto said in his speech that, “If the lessons learned within the four walls of the classroom enhance knowledge, camps of the kind will enhance life experience. The life lessons learned here will be unforgettable for the campers throughout their lives”. He congratulated the students who worked under the scorching sun and the camp officials who guided them.

Chief guest Mr Rajagopal, Head Master of Srikrishna Primary School, Patte, said, “Such camps help us get rid of negative thoughts and make us think positively. The hard work of the campers who have been working with discipline and time consciousness for the last seven days is commendable.”

The Guest of honour, Nahusha P B, Director, Patte Institutions, expressed happiness by saying that,” The institutions are chosen to make the students aware of the rural life. If students learn discipline in schools, they learn life lessons in such camps.”

Volunteers Vaishnavi and Zainuddin shared their experiences of the camp. Chasmika and Nikshith presented a detailed report of the various programs held during seven days. Camp officials Pushpa N welcomed and Vasudeva N thanked. Chaitra NP, the co-camp officer, announced the details of those who extended helping hands in the smooth conduct of the camp. Co-Camp Officer Dhanya PT compered the program.
