Adaptation to methodical life style and with control in food habits one can win over the complications that occur due to diabetes’ says Dr Nazeer Ahamad on World Diabetes Day

Puttur, Nov 15 : In view of World Diabetes Day, the Youth Red Cross Society of St Philomena College, in association with Dr Nazeer`s Diabetes Centre and Fr Patrao Hospital organized an awareness program on Diabetes on November 14, 2022.

Dr Nazeer Ahamad, Endocrinologist Dr Nazeer`s Diabetes Centre, Kallare Puttur participated as resource person. In his talk, he said awareness about Diabetes is the need of the day as there is an incredible uprise in the number of diabetic patients in the present scenario. He explained about different types of Diabetes and the complications connected to it if Diabetes is not detected at an early stage. He emphasized that by adapting to methodical lifestyle and control in food habits one can win over the complications that occur due to diabetes.

Rev Fr. Antony Prakash Monteiro, Principal presided over the programme. In his presidential remarks said that such health awareness programmes always create an opportunity to be cautious of diabetes and what needs to be done for the prevention, diagnosis and how to manage the situation. As Doctor’s profession is to impart health, we need to learn to reveal our problems. Awareness helps us to live and helps to let others too live.

Vice Principal and IQAC Coordinator Dr A P Radhakrishna was present on the dais. Programme began with prayers by Preetham and team. Dr K Malini welcomed and compered the programme. Dr Dimple Fernandes Convener of the YRC unit proposed vote of thanks.

Health checkup followed the awareness programme. The Medical faculty of Fr Patrao Hospital Puttur conducted diagnosis for the staff and students, having Dr Nazeer Ahamad for spot consultation.
