St Philomena College was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

ಪುತ್ತೂರು(reporterkarnataka.com): ಸಂತ ಫಿಲೋಮಿನಾ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ವೃತ್ತಿ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ಹಾಗೂ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ನೇಮಕಾತಿ ಘಟಕ, ಅಂತರಿಕ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟ ಭರವಸೆ ಕೋಶ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಎನ್. ಐ. ಐ. 1 ಇವುಗಳ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಸ್ಪಂದನ ಸಭಾಭವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಹಾಗೂ ಕ್ಯಾಂಪಸ್‌ ನೇಮಕಾತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಉಪಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಪ್ರೊ. ಗಣೇಶ್ ಭಟ್ ರವರು “ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಪವಾಡಗಳು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂದು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಾ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಬದಲು ತಮ್ಮ ಗೌಶಲಗಳನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೊಳಿಸುವತ್ತ ಗಮನಹರಿಸಬೇಕಾದುದು ಇಂದಿನ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಾತ್ಮಕ ಯುಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಅತಿ ಅಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಪರಿಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಡೆದ ಅಂಕಗಳು ಪ್ರವೇಶ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಆತನ ಮರೆಯುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಕಾರಿಯಾದರೆ ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಗೌಗಲಗಳು ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಸಕಾರಿಯಾಗುತ್ತವೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಎಸ್. ಐ. ಐ. ಟಿ. ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಶಾಖೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಸಮಾಲೋಚಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸಿಗ‌ ರವರು ಬ್ಯಾಂಕಿಂಗ್ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿನ ವಿಪುಲ ಉದ್ಯೋಗವಕಾಶಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಎನ್.ಐ.ಟಿ. ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಶಾಖೆಯ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರರಾದ ಕು. ಶೀತಲ್ ರವರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.

ರಚಿತಾ ಮತ್ತು ಬಳಗ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದರು. ವೃತ್ತಿ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ಹಾಗೂ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ನೇಮಕಾತಿ ಘಟಕದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರಾದ ಡಾ. ರಾಧಾಕೃಷ್ಣ ಗೌಡ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿ ಪ್ರಾಸ್ತಾವಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಸಮಾದಾನ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರಾದ ಲೆ. ಜೋನ್ಸನ್ ಡೇವಿಸ್ ಸಿಲ್ವೇರಾ ವಂದಿಸಿದರು, ಗಣಕ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕಿ ಗೀತಾ, ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.
