St Philomena College was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

    • Participations:

    •          Participated and got first place in seminar in the intercollegiate university level fest “PHYSICA 2019” held at Mangalore University.

    •          Participated and got second place in State level Conference and presented paper on the topic Synthesis of Cobalt diselenide by hydrothermal process for supercapacitor application held at SRSMNGFG College & Post Graduate Study Centre, Barkur, Udupi.

    •          Participated and presented a paper on Characterization of hydrothermal prepared Cobalt diselenide for supercapacitor application at the National Conference on Novel Materials and Devices for Future Applications (NMDFA) organized by the Department of physics, St. Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru in association with the ‘Association of Physics teachers of Mangalore University’ and supported by ‘Star College Scheme’, DBT, Government of India.

    •          Completed a research project on “Synthesis and Characterization of Cobalt Diselenide for its supercapacitive application” under the guidance of Dr.CS Rout at Jain University, Bangalore.

    •          Participated in one day national workshop on accelerator based science research by CUK Kerala and IUAC, New Delhi held at central university of Kerala

    •          Participated and got consolation prize in essay competition in Mysuru Divisional level competitions for PG science students held at Pilikula Regional Science Centre Mangaluru, Karnataka

    •          Participated in seminar competition in Physica 2020 held at Mangalore University.

    •          Participated in the District level competition and exhibition (Inspire awards) of various science models held at Pilikula

    •          Participated and got 3rd place in group dance in district level Pratibha karanji competition held at Surathkal

    •          Best Outgoing student of the year 2012-2013 of Knanaya Jyothi English Medium High School Kadaba

    •          Performed nearly 100 dance programmes in Karnataka and Kerala

    •          Hosted several Programmes at school and Colleges

    Extra-curricular activities:

    •          Vidwath in Bharathanatyam conducted by Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board

    •          Completed junior grade in Carnatic music exam conducted by Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board
