19 KAR BN NCC CATC CLOSING CEREMONY

On the eve of closing of the ongoing 19 KAR BN NCC, MADIKERI (MANGALORE GROUP/KAR & GOA DTE) Combined Annual Training Camp, a Closing Ceremony and Cultural Programme was organized at St Philomena High School Auditorium on January 21st 2023. Camp Commandant Col Zephyrin G Aranha, while his closing address said that though the Camp was of short number of days cadets could make good number of friends among the cadets of three Districts. Each ones attitude of life and cultural background is different. Comradery, Regimental way of life, right dress in right place, learning and competitions along with the mandatory Firefighting demo and CPR training including ultramodern weapon training surely has enriched the cadets thereby helping them to grow in the right direction.

Guest of Honor Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Principal, St Philomena College, Puttur, in his address said that cadets are trained for unity and discipline, trained for responsible citizenship as the aim of NCC is to transform responsible human beings to responsible citizenship. Joining together while sharing responsibility and sharing thoughts will always help one to glow from within to form a complete personality. He thanked 19 KAR BN NCC MADIKERI for choosing the serene St Philomena campus for the purpose.

Lt Col Chaco VD, Administrative Officer of the Camp was happy to express that it was a wonderful, memorable and effective training Camp. It was an excellent experience to be with disciplined, cooperative, involving and associating cadets during the Drill and motivational activities.

Capt. Beena and Prameela NS read out the names of the prize winners in various competitions during the Camp.

A book documenting the activities conducted during this Camp was released on the occasion.

450 cadets are trained in this Camp with the support of the concerned officers including Lt Johnson David Sequeira, NCC officer of ST Philomena College and Peter Naresh Lobo, NCC Officer, St Philomena Highschool, Puttur have taken the overall responsibility of the Camp.

Adithi Joshi welcomed and Omkar Pannu proposed vote of thanks. A cultural programme followed the formal closing ceremony.
