St Philomena College was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

Azim Premji Foundation Campus Placements – 2023

The Azim Premji Foundation- Campus Placements-2023 – Associate -Field Institute interview result has been announced and four Final year postgraduate students of St Philomena College Postgraduate and Research Center are offered with Associate -Field Institute designation. Initially, the Campus Recruitment drive for Associate leader held at St. Philomena College in association with Alumni and Placement Cell and Azim Premji Foundation on 01February, 2023. The members of the Azim Premji Foundation visited the College as campus recruiters. Among the eight candidates who cleared the written test, the shortlisted candidates were called for interview held on 24 February, 2023 at the PG Centre, St. Philomena College, Puttur. Out of eight candidates, four candidates have successfully cleared the interview and received offer letter as Associate -Field Institute.

The Principal of the College Rev Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro congratulated the candidates Ms Lavanya S, M.Sc Mathematics, Mr Narayana Sharma N, Mr Preetham M K and Ms Soujanya N M.Sc Physics and wished them all well in the days to come as professionals. The foundation has offered by “Associate – Field Institute” based in Ballari, Kalburgi - Karnataka as a part of Azim Premji Foundation for Development.
