St Philomena College was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.
Since its inception, the Institute has lived up to societal expectations, turning out consistent and appreciable results in academic and non-academic fields. The institution does attempt to treat the primary stakeholders in 5 UG programs and 5 PG programs with a rewarding educational experience.

The Department of Business Administration of St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur, in association with the Training and Placement Cell, organized a one-day workshop on “Career Readiness & AI-Powered Resume Building” on Friday, at the PG Seminar Hall.
The programme was presided over by the Principal, Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro. In his presidential address, he encouraged students to prepare themselves for the highly competitive job market and highlighted the objectives of the workshop, stressing the importance of developing the right skills and mindset for career success.
The resource person for the workshop was Prof. Guru Prasad K J, Placement Lead and Corporate Readiness Coach at Nitte University, Bengaluru. During the session, he explained the significance of career readiness and guided students on creating professional and impactful resumes with the help of AI-based tools.
Through interactive discussions and practical demonstrations, students were introduced to the ways in which Artificial Intelligence can enhance resume structure, effectively highlight key skills, and improve their chances of success in recruitment processes. The session also emphasized the importance of personal branding, communication skills, and confidence while applying for job opportunities.
The programme began with a formal welcome by Vishmitha of III BBA. A prayer was rendered by Nidhi and team from I BBA. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dechamma of III BBA.
