About Us

St Philomena College(Autonomous) was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

Celebration of National Constitution Day

Puttur :St Philomena College Puttur Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Department of Humanities, 3/ 19 Kar Bn NCC, National Service Scheme celebrated National Constitution Day on 26 November 2022 at 2PM in the College Quadrangle. The program was presided over by the Principal of the College, Rev.Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro. In his presidential remarks he gave a brief information with regard to the significance of celebration of National Constitution Day. Mrs. Anisha, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science participated as resource person and elaborated on the Indian Constitution and the importance of Constitution Day celebration.

Hav. Shubham, PI Staff of 19 Karnataka Battalion NCC Madikeri was present on the occasion. Dean of Humanities Prof Subair welcomed and Prof. Vasudeva, Head of Department of Economics proposed vote of thanks.  Priya D’Souza of II B.A. recited the preamble of the Constitution to the gathering. Hasini Singh of III B.A. compered the program. Lt Johnson David Sequeira coordinated the program. The program ended with the National Anthem.
