St Philomena College(Autonomous) was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

College Annual Magazine 'Philoprabha'

The college annual magazine ‘Philoprabha’ for the academic year 2023-24 was officially released on 28 January 2025 at St. Philomena College (Autonomous). The Principal, Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, formally unveiled the magazine in the presence of faculty members. He commended the dedication and meticulous effort of the editorial team in ensuring the timely publication of the magazine. Dr. Monteiro expressed his satisfaction remarking on its significance as a vibrant reflection of the academic, cultural, and creative achievements of the institution.

The Chief Editor, Prof. Vinaychandra, welcomed the gathering, sharing insights into the editorial journey and expressing gratitude to the editorial team for their steadfast support and cooperation. He emphasized the teamwork and commitment involved in bringing the magazine to life. Editorial team member Mrs Pushpa proposed the vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of everyone involved in the process. Editorial Board Members were present on the occasion.
