College celebrated Teachers' Day

St Philomena (Autonomous) College, Puttur, celebrated Teachers’ Day  on the occasion of the birth anniversary of former President of India, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

 In his presidential address, the Principal, Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, highlighted that the nation’s finest minds should become teachers, thereby shaping the future generations. Vice-Principal Dr Vijay Kumar Moleyar, in his remarks, emphasized that teachers must always remain conscious of their responsibilities and perform their duties with sincerity.

  Mr Tejaswi Bhat, Assistant professor in the Department of Commerce shared his reflections drawn from his professional journey as a teacher. Mrs Bharathi S Rai,Public Relation Officer of the College expressed her thoughts on the multifaceted role of teachers, elaborating on the expectations of the society as well as the institutions and the confidence required to face challenges. She stressed that every success and failure of a student must be understood as a part of character building and observed that the resilience demonstrated by teachers in the teaching process itself becomes the greatest life lesson for students.

 Dr Radhakrishna Gowda, Dean of the Department of Business Administration, extended a warm welcome, while Mr Harshith, Coordinator of the Postgraduate Commerce Department, proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was  compered by Ms Shivani Mallya.

 To mark the celebration, faculty members Smt Suraksha, Sriraga, Shivani Mallya, and Prashanth Rai and Sudip Clitus Vas presented cultural  programmes, adding colour to the occasion.
