Consumer club organized awareness programmes.

The Consumer Club of St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur organized a series of outreach awareness programmes and workshops at DKZP Government Higher Primary School, Savanoor on March 5 and DKZP Government Higher Primary School, Sajankady on March 6 as part of its extension activities.

The programme aimed to create awareness among school children about basic consumer rights, responsible purchasing habits, and the importance of being careful while buying and using products.

During the programme, members of the Consumer Club interacted with the school students and conducted various awareness activities. College students explained simple concepts of consumer awareness in an engaging manner suitable for young learners. They also demonstrated different products and explained how to check important details such as price, manufacturing date, expiry date, quality marks, and proper labelling before purchasing goods.

To make the session more interesting and effective, the students presented skits, product demonstrations, and interactive activities highlighting common consumer issues and the importance of making informed choices. These activities helped school children understand the importance of consumer awareness in their daily lives.

The school children actively participated in the programme and responded enthusiastically to the activities conducted by the college students.

The programme was coordinated by Mr Praveen D and Mrs Swathi Shetty, Coordinators of the Consumer Club, St  Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur.
