St Philomena College was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

EDUCATIONAL VISIT BY MSW STUDENTS: 2021-22

The Post Graduate Department of Social Work had organized 3 days Educational Tour for II-year MSW Students. Students have visited industries, renowned hospitals and reputed NGOs in and around Mysore from 21th February, 2022 to 23rd February, 2022.

The students have visited Kirloskar Electronic Company Ltd. Belwadi, Mysore; Krishnarajendra Hospital, Mysore; Atlantic Apparels Gokaldas Exports, Belwadi, Mysore, Viveka- Healing hands, caring Minds, Vajamangala, Mysore.

These visits helped the students to gain useful insights in enhancing their knowledge as well as increasing experiences and also their professional competence. The coordinator of the department Mrs. Srimani, Assistant Professor Mrs. Prathibha Coordinated the study Tour.
