About Us

St Philomena College(Autonomous) was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

FDP ON NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY 2020

Internal NEP 2020 Task Force of St Philomena College ,Puttur organized  a Four day workshop from 21/09/2021 to 24/09/2021 in the P G Seminar Hall .The program was inaugurated by the Principal of the College Prof. Leo Noronha . The resource persons for the sessions were Dr Norbert Lobo, Director of Admin Block and HoD of Economics , St Aloysius College Mangaluru and Karunakar Kotegar Prof. and Head of Dept. of Computer Application Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal, Karnataka Syndicate Member, Mangalore University. The Workshop is aimed to create awareness about the newly launched National Educational Policy 2020 among the Faculty members It also focused at learning about the reforms NEP aims to bring about and how it seeks to change the scenario of Indian Education System.
