FDP on NEP -2020 – Impact & Implication in Higher Education

A fdp on NEP -2020 – Impact & Implication in Higher Education was held on 21 September 2021. Dr Norbert Lobo Professor of Economics St. Aloysius College, Mangalore was the Resource Person. Prof. Leo Noronha presided over the program. Almost 98 faculties of the college participated in this workshop.

NEP – 2020 will bring the revolutionary changes in the higher education. It is three year degree education or the four year education with the Honors in the fourth year. The student who will be joining to the College will opt for two core subjects. For instance in the Science it is Physics & Mathematics/Mathematics & Chemistry/Chemistry & Mathematics. The same way in other program also. In the language student will select any two subjects as the language. In the NEP students can move from one institution to other and credits will be also getting transferred. At the end of the first two semesters, a student can leave the College and he will gets the Certificate. If a student leaves the College after 4 semesters, he will get the Diploma. After 6 semesters, student will get the bachelor’s degree. Dr Norbert lobo enumerated the salient features of honors in NEP and also various challenges in the introduction of various elective papers.
