St Philomena College(Autonomous) was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.
Since its inception, the Institute has lived up to societal expectations, turning out consistent and appreciable results in academic and non-academic fields. The institution does attempt to treat the primary stakeholders in 5 UG programs and 5 PG programs with a rewarding educational experience.

The Department of Business Administration at St Philomena College organized a vibrant Food Fest aimed at enhancing the skill development of the students. The event, presided over by the college principal, Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, received high praise for fostering creativity and dynamism. In his opening address, Dr Monteiro applauded the students and faculty for creating such opportunities, noting that these initiatives help students gain invaluable practical experience in the industry.
In his introductory speech, Dr Radhakrishna Gowda, Head of the Business Administration Department, highlighted the commitment of department to providing students with hands-on training and opportunities to develop essential creative skills. He emphasized that these activities are vital for equipping students with the life skills required to sail across the modern world successfully. He also mentioned that the department would continue to organize workshops, skill development programs, and study tours to support the comprehensive growth of the students. He then welcomed the distinguished guests.
Ms Hrishitha and her team led the prayer. Mr Suhail, President of the Association of Business Administration of the college, proposed a vote of thanks. Mr Prashant Rai, Asst professor from the Department of Business, compered the program. Assistant professors Pushpa N. and Abhishek Suvarna added their support to the event.
The event showcased a display of creatively designed stalls, ranging from mojitos prepared on the spot to healthy drinks and snacks, coastal homemade delicacies, brownies, and chat items. Teachers and students from the college visited the stalls during breaks, appreciating and encouraging the efforts of the students.
The Food Fest proved to be an outstanding platform for students to showcase their creativity while developing practical skills, affirming the dedication of department to fostering future business leaders.
