St Philomena College(Autonomous) was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.
Since its inception, the Institute has lived up to societal expectations, turning out consistent and appreciable results in academic and non-academic fields. The institution does attempt to treat the primary stakeholders in 5 UG programs and 5 PG programs with a rewarding educational experience.

Puttur : Women Empowerment Cell and Anti Women Harassment Cell of St.Philoeman College organized a guest lecture on Health and Hygiene
Sr. Anna Maria, physician of Fr.Patrao Hospital, Puttur, speaking on the occasion said, the health does not mean only the physical health, it also includes the mental health too. the present time is too hectic and no one has time for the relaxation which make a toll on the physical as well as the mental health. It is ones own responsibility to keep the physical and mental health. Avoiding the junk food, taking the ample rest, restricting the rest Sr. Anna Maria, has enumerated the importance of the healthy food and habits which keep our body and the mind fit and clean.
Rev.Fr Antony Prakash Monteiro, the Principal, presided the function remarked, women are the source of inspiration and energy of the family. They have immense responsibility. In fact, father and mother, both have lot of responsibility and they are like two wheels of the life. Both of them have to take equal responsibility of the family and such family will progress. The stress will spoil our total health.

The program was organized under the guidance of Dr Dimple Jenifer Fernandes, the Coordinator of Women Empowerment Cell, and Prof. Novelin Fernandes, the Coordinator of Anti Women Harassment Cell.
