St Philomena College was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

ICSI Team Visit

Key representatives from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) Mangalore Chapter visited the Puttur Study Centre, emphasizing collaboration and growth.

A delegation of esteemed representatives from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) Mangalore Chapter made an official visit to the Puttur Study Centre on 14 September, 2023, marking a significant step towards enhancing educational collaboration. The study centre, located on the campus of St Philomena College in Puttur, was the focal point of this important visit.

During their visit, ICSI officials engaged in fruitful discussions with the faculty members of the Department of Business Administration, emphasizing the importance of promoting professional education and training for company secretaries. The collaborative efforts are intended to fortify the educational environment and enrich the learning experience for prospective company secretaries in the region.

The event witnessed productive exchanges of ideas and insights, with both parties expressing enthusiasm for future collaborations that will further elevate the quality of education and training provided at the Puttur Study Centre. ICSI officials commended the efforts of St Philomena College in fostering a conducive learning atmosphere that aligns with the goals of ICSI in developing proficient company secretaries.

On this significant occasion ICSI representatives CS Santhosh Prabhu and Shankar, ICSI in charge, Dr Radhakrishna Gowda, Head of the Department of Business Administration, Mr Abhishek Suvarna, Coordinator of the Study Centre and Assistant Professor in the Department of B.B.A, faculty members of the department were present.
