Induction Program for First-Year MCA Students

St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur, organized an induction program for first-year MCA students at the postgraduate seminar hall of the College. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.

Presiding over the program, Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Principal, addressed the students and emphasized the transformative role of technology in today’s rapidly changing world. “As you embark on your MCA journey, you are entering a field that demands innovation and responsibility. In the coming years, you will encounter various challenges and activities that will test your patience, discipline, and enthusiasm. Consistent effort and professionalism are the keys to success. Do not chase just salary packages. Instead, focus on developing your abilities and skills. True success lies in becoming professionals who think critically, communicate effectively, and act ethically,” he said. He also congratulated the students for choosing St Philomena College for their higher education.

Dr Vijay Kumar Moleyar, Vice Principal, spoke about the value of higher education and encouraged students to make use of all opportunities available at the college to achieve success in life.

Dr Norbert Mascarenhas, Academic Registrar, offered best wishes and congratulations to the students newly admitted to the MCA department.

On this occasion, mark sheets of the first-year examinations were distributed to second-year postgraduate students. The distribution was managed by Captain Johnson David Sequeira, Deputy Controller of Examinations.

The program began with a prayer led by Apoorva and her team. Dr Vinay Chandra, Dean of the MCA Department, welcomed the gathering and delivered introductory remarks. Ms Akshatha B., Assistant Professor, proposed the vote of thanks. Dr Geetha Poornima K. compered the program. MCA faculty members Neelam Kuttappa and Shodan PG were also present.

The five-day induction program includes several activities designed for the all-round development of students.
