About Us

St Philomena College was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

Interzone Kabaddi Tournament Runners' Trophy

Kabaddi team of St Philomena College won Runners – up Trophy (Mangalore - Udupi zone) in the Mangalore University Inter – zone kabaddi tournament ,2022- 23 for the prestigeous Dharmasthala Rathnavarma Heggade Trophy. The tournament was conducted by the Physical education Department of Mangalore University in the indoor stadium on synthetic mat. SDM College, Ujire emerged winners. Abdul Nasir and Praveenkumar of III B.A., Roopesh IIBSW, Fardeen, Mohammad Sinan and Suhan of II B.com. Anvesh and Yatheesh of I B.Com. and Isham of I BCA are the proud players in the team. Nasir and Suhan exhibited an extraoridinary display of powerful game techniques. The team was trained by Habeeb Mani and able guidance of Elias Pinto, Physical Education Dierector of the College.

 Principal of the College Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro congratulated the players on this achievement.
