St Philomena College was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

M.Sc. Physics: Participation in conference and seminar competition

On 14th December, 2021; 20 students from second year M.Sc. Physics of St Philomena College were participated in the One-day State Level Conference organized by St Aloysius College Mangalore, on “Materials for Renewable energy applications and challenges in Condensed Matter Physics”. In connection with the conference on 13th December 2021, seminar competition was held at St Aloysius College Mangalore on the topic “Role of Condensed Matter Physics or Solid-State Physics in renewable energy and sustainable applications”. Ms Rachana N R and Ms Pallavi Bekal, participated in this seminar and won First and Second places respectively. Also, Ms Bhavya Dsouza and Mr Pawan Nayak N were participated in the poster presentation.
