About Us

St Philomena College(Autonomous) was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

M.Sc. Physics: Students Participation

Participation national workshop on “Stellar Astrophysics”

Students of PG Dept of Physics: Ms Joyline M Rodrigues (2nd year MSc), Ms Prajna K (2nd year MSc) with faculty Mr Supreeth B.J. were participated in three days national workshop on “Stellar Astrophysics”, held at Chirst University, Bangalore on 2-4th February 2017.

Participation in National workshop on “Computational Physics”

Ms Ashwitha Rai K, Ms Harshamani K. J., Ms Pavana B, Ms Swapna M, Mr Muralee Krishna were participated in two-day national workshop on “Computational Physics”, on 9th and 10th February 2017 held at Alva’s College, Moodabidri.

Participation in Physica Fest

Students participated in inter-university Physics fest PHYSICA, held by the department of studies in Physics, Mangalore University. Following students were participated in Poornima (Ist year), Roopashri B. R., Prajna K., Joyline M. Rodrigues, Lavita Joyline Martis, Nayana K.M. in different events conducted. Joyline M. Rodrigues got second place in the event panel discussion.

Participation in science academies lecture

Mr Suprith, Ms Roopashri, Ms Minutha, Ms Lavita Joyline Martis of Second year MSc Physics were participated in “Science Academies Lecture Workshop on Condensed Soft Matter Physics” on 22 to 24th February 2017 at Mangalore University
