About Us

St Philomena College(Autonomous) was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

Mangaluru University Football Champions

Puttur : St.Philomena College became the Mangaluru University Champion in recently concluded Mangaluru University level Football tournament at Alva’s College, Moodabidire. The tournament was jointly organized by Mangaluru University and Alva’s College.

The colleges affiliated to Mangauru University were grouped into Udupi and Mangalore zones. The victorious four Colleges were moved to the quarter finals. St.Philomena College and St. Aloysius College reached to the finals.

In the final, St.Philomena College beat St.Aloysius College by 1-0 goal  in the closely contested match and turned University  Champions. Solomon Roshan Joseph captained the team. Prof. Elyas Pinto, has given the coaching  for the victorious team.
