‘Master Mix Chefs’ Cooking Without Fire.

The PG Department of Social Work at St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur organised a vibrant Cooking Without Fire competition titled “Master Mix Chefs” for postgraduate students on Tuesday, drawing enthusiastic participation from across departments.

The event witnessed the participation of 11 student teams representing various postgraduate programmes. The contestants impressed the audience and judges alike with their creativity, aesthetic presentation, and strong emphasis on nutritional value, indicating that culinary innovation need not rely on conventional cooking methods.

Addressing the gathering, the Principal of the college, Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, lauded the initiative and encouraged students to actively engage in co-curricular activities. He observed that such competitions play a vital role in inculcating essential life skills and values beyond the classroom. Emphasising the significance of balanced dietary habits, he highlighted the importance of consuming healthy and nutritious food to maintain a stable and wholesome lifestyle.

Mrs Prathibha, Assistant Professor in the PG Department of Social Work, welcomed the gathering, provided an overview of the competition, and later delivered the vote of thanks.

The programme was organised under the guidance of Mrs Srimani, Coordinator of the PG Department of Social Work. Coordinators, faculty members from various PG departments, and non-teaching staff were present on the occasion, lending support to the initiative and encouraging student participation.
