St Philomena College(Autonomous) was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

Orientation Programme for Pg Students

An Orientation Programme for Post graduation Students, Centre for PG Studies & Research, St Philomena College, Puttur under the auspice of PG Student Welfare Committee was held on January 17th 2023 at PG Seminar Hall, of the College.  Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Principal of the College, presided over the programme and said that the students should focus mainly on their attitude, personality and language and be able to incorporate mental, physical and spiritual perspectives meaningfully. He further stated that students should concentrate on training their heart, brain and body through an involvement in Curricular, Co-curricular and Extracurricular activities.

The program started with the prayer by Shriraga, Arpitha and group. Ms Pruthvi, Assistant Prof. Department of Commerce, compered the programme. Prof. Ganesh Bhat, Vice Principal of the College, was present during the occasion.
