St Philomena College(Autonomous) was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

Orientation Visits by I MSW Students - 2023

The Post Graduate Department of Social Work organized a one-day Orientation Visit for first year MSW Students. Students have visited Ave Mariya Palliative Care Centre, Vamanjoor, SDM Integrated School, Vamanjaoor, Mangalore and Bharath Seva Ashram, Kanyana. The orientation visits provides the information to understand the importance of social work, role of social workers and institutions in society.

Mrs Srimani, Coordinator, P G Dept of Social Work and Mrs Prathibha, Assistant professor, P G Dept of Social Work, guided the students and accompanied them during the orientation visit.
