St Philomena College(Autonomous) was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.
Since its inception, the Institute has lived up to societal expectations, turning out consistent and appreciable results in academic and non-academic fields. The institution does attempt to treat the primary stakeholders in 5 UG programs and 5 PG programs with a rewarding educational experience.

Institution’s Innovation Council and PG Department of Commerce of St Philomena college jointly organised a one-day workshop on ‘Entrepreneurship as an Innovation Engine’ for the students of M. Com on 8 December 2023 at the PG Seminar Hall of the College.
The Principal of the College Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro presided over the inaugural session and spoke on the importance of recognizing and harnessing the 'X factor' in oneself and this ‘X Factor ‘could manifest in various forms, from the chosen location for a business venture to a specialized formula that sets it apart. Participants were urged to introspect and find the ‘X Factor’ within themselves, He encouraged the students to follow their hearts and pursue their desires with perfection.
Mr Suhas Marike, Proprietor Marike’s Organics, participated as the resource person. He focused on entrepreneurship as an innovation engine and provided a platform for participants to broaden their perspectives and delve into the world of business with renewed enthusiasm. He not only probed into the intricacies of business, demand, and supply but also emphasized the subtle ‘X factor’ that sets successful entrepreneurs apart. Mr Suhas Marike also emphasized the importance of embracing one’s unique qualities in the pursuit of business excellence.
Shreeraga and Hamsanandini led the prayer. Pooja, extended a warm welcome. Pooja S Rai, proposed vote of thanks and program was compered by Sowmyashree S R. Mr Harshith R, Coordinator, PG Department of Commerce and Ms Prithvi, Asst. professor in the Department were present on the Occasion.
