St Philomena College(Autonomous) was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

‘Philoprabha’ – College Magazine Released

The Annuual Magazine of St Philomena College, Puttur, ‘Philoprabha’ was released at the College on January 9 2023 at a simple programme. Principal Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro released the Magazine and shared his reminiscence about the Magazine, expressed contentment and thanked the Editorial Board for the hard work put forward in motivating the students holding to the concept of Write and Publish and bringing out the fruits of the same in the form of ‘Philoprabha’. Editor Mr Vinayachandra, Dean of Dept of Computer Science, acknowledged the cooperation received from the members of the Editorial Board. ‘Philoprabha ‘as it means’ Radiance’ compiled the positive vibes of the students with regard to their observations around in the form of articles, short stories, poems, reminiscences and reflections on various aspects of life. Members of the Editorial Board were present on the occasion. Editorial Board members Dr Vijaya Kumar Moleyar HoD of Kannada welcomed and Bharathi S Rai, HoD English proposed vote of thanks. Rev. Fr Stany Pinto ,Campus Director ,Vice principals Prof. Ganesh Bhat and Dr A P Radhakrishna were present on the occasion.
