About Us

St Philomena College(Autonomous) was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

Release of Philosinchana Kananda magazine

Philosinchana, the written Kananda magazine, prepared by the final year BSc students of St.Philomena College was released in a function held at the College.

The Vice Principal and IQAC coordinator Dr AP Radhakrishna said, participating in literary activities will bring out the best of talents from students.  Rev.Dr Antony Paraksh Monteiro, the Principal of the College presided the program. He lauded the efforts of Kannada Department for motivating the students to prepare the written magazine and said, students are using the mobiles and computers and they are moving away from the habit of writing, writing habits bring the clarity of thoughts and students have to involve themselves in activities which ultimately benefited for the growth of the personality

Prof.Viajayakumar Moleyar, HOD of Kananda gave introductory remarks and complemented the efforts of students in bringing out Philosinschana in elegant manner.

Tanvi Rai and Vaishali rendered prayer, Reshma proposed vote of thanks, Somitha welcomed and  compered the program.
