St Philomena College was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

Report of Felicitation to the Rank Holder held on 19th February 2020

The Post Graduate Department of Mathematics, St Philomena College, Puttur organized a Felicitation Program to Ms. Chaithra B J, the 1st Rank Holder of the M.Sc. batch 2017-19 in Mathematics in the semester examinations conducted by Mangalore University, on 19th February 2020 at Seminar hall of the P.G. Centre.

The function commenced at 11.30 am. Dr. S Parameshwara Bhatta, Professor Emeritus, Department of Mathematics, Mangalore University appreciated the achievement of the Rank Holder.

Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, the Chairperson of PG studies, St Philomena College Puttur appreciated the effort of the Rank Holder as well as the faculty members of the department for this achievement.

Prof. Ganesh Bhat K, the Coordinator of the P.G. Department of Mathematics made introductory remarks with a brief history of the department.

Ms. Chaithra B J, the rank holder was felicitated by the honorable guests.

After receiving the felicitation, Ms. Chaithra B J remembered the efforts of her teachers in obtaining the rank and thanked the institution as well as the faculty members of the department for their encouragement.

Prof. Leo Noronha, the Principal of St. Philomena College in his presidential address mentioned about the excellence of St. Philomena College in the educational quality.

B Kshama Bhat and Kavana N of I M.Sc. prayed for the success of the program. Ms. Anusha L, Assiatant Professor, P.G. Department of Mathematics, St. Philomena College, Puttur read the words of appreciation to the Rank Holder by the department.

Mr. Vrikshavardahana Hebbar N, Assistant Professor, P.G. Department of Mathematics, St. Philomena College, Puttur welcomed the gathering, Mrs. Vaishnavi C, Assistant Professor, P.G. Department of Mathematics, St. Philomena College, Puttur proposed the vote of thanks and Pallavi P compeered the master of ceremony.

Prof. Udaya K, HOD of U.G. Department of Mathematics, St. Philomena College, Putttur , faculty members Mr Karthik K and Mr. Mohan Raj S of the P.G. department as well as the students of P.G. Department of Mathematics were present in the program.
