About Us

St Philomena College(Autonomous) was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

M.Sc Physics: Research Internship

Three students from the PG Department of Physics, St Philomena College, Puttur have completed their research internship at NMAM Institute of Technology, NITTE from 15 th June to 16 th August 2022. Ms Rachana NR has worked on the project “Characterization of Manganese incorporation of ZnS thin films by Spray Pyrolysis Technique.” Ms Bhavya Dsouza did her project on “Preparation of spray pyrolyzed cobalt doped ZnS thin films for gas sensor applications.” Mr Pawan Nayak N has completed project work on “Synthesis of Magnesium doped Manganese oxide (MgMnO) thin films for photovoltaic applications.”
