St Philomena College was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

St Philomena College bags Overall Championship

Puttur 11th January: In the State-level Annual Fest “Cauvery Achinthya Tech Fest-23” organized by Cauvery College, Gonikoppal, Students of St Philomena College bagged the Overall Championship. Karthik K R of III BCA and Princita Dsouza of II BCA received the Second Prize in the event Treasure Hunt, Deepak Acharya of III BCA and Mohammad Siyabuddeen of II BCA received the First Prize in Website Design, Kelvin Antony Kuriyakose of III BCA and Adithya Dinesh of II BSc won the First Prize in the event Videography. Johnviston Titas Dias of III BCA participated in Surprise Event, Yathin of III BCA and Vijetha of II BCA participated in Coding. Rajeshwari M, the convener of Pinnacle IT Club and Vinayachandra HoD Computer Science provided necessary guidance to the students.
