St Philomena College was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

Stellar Evolution and Structure of Galaxies Webinar Report

The Post Graduate Department of Physics, St Philomena College, Puttur had organized a webinar on “Stellar Evolution and Structure of Galaxies” on 8th June 2020.The resource person was Dr Divakar Mayya, Professor, National Institute of Astrophysics, Maxico.

The HOD of Physics Department Dr A P Radhakrishna introduced the Resource person to the participants and welcomed him. Staff members and M.Sc. Physics students of the Department had participated in the webinar. Also, there were about 60 interested participants from various Institutions and organizations took part in the webinar. The Coordinator of the Department Dr E Deepak D’silva rendered vote of thanks.
