St Philomena College(Autonomous) was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

Visit to Commerce Laboratory

On June 25, 2022  the B. Com students of Government First Grade College , Balmata visited the commerce laboratory.

            The commerce laboratory in the PG section of St. Philomena College showcases information on Banking, Share Markets, International Trade, Tourism, Industry, Insurance, Post Office, Income Tax, GST, RBI, SEBI, stamps and coins of various countries.  It also contains specimen of documents such as Memorandum of Association, Memorandum of Understanding, Income Tax Returns, PAN Card etc.

            The visit was co-ordinated by the Second year M.Com Students.

            The Co-ordinator of the PG Department of Commerce and other faculty members were present during the visit.  The M.Com students guided the B.Com students.
