St Philomena College was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize his dream and the mission was accomplished in the year 1958.

1.     Participated in a three-day National Seminar on “Partition of India: Event and Historiography” held in the department of History, Mangalore University on 16, 17 and 18 September 2010.

2.  Participated in a one-day seminar on “Undivided South Kanara: Historical Experience and contemporary situation organised by History Students Association in the Department of History, Mangalore University on 21 April 2011.

3.     Participated in a Nation Level Seminar on “Human Rights – Changing Tends and Challenges in India” sponsored by UGC held on 23 and 24 September 2011 at St Agnes (Autonomous) College, Mangalore.

4.     Participated in one-day seminar on “Epigraphy and Reconstruction of History” held on 28 July 2012 organised by Department of History, Bhandarkars Arts and Science College in Association with MANUSHA, Mangalore University.

5.     Participated in National Level Webinar on “Origin and Development of Indian Temple Architecture” Organised by Department of History, Government First Grade College, Shikaripura, Shivamogga on 09-07-2021

6.     Participated in the Two Days Faculty Development Program on “Tourism in India” on 19 & 20 July 2021 organised by Department of History and IQAC of university College Mangalore.

7.     Participated in an one day State Level Seminar on “An Overview of Revised Syllabus of History as per NEP-2020” held at Dr.P.Dayananda  Pai -P.Satisha Pai Government First Grade College Mangalore on 19 November 2022.
